Love Dare for Families – Day 29: Love’s Motivation
Day 29: Love’s Motivation
Today’s Challenge
Before you see your family again today, pray for them by name and for their needs. Whether it comes easy for you or not, say “I love you,” then express love to them in some tangible way. Go to God in prayer again, thanking Him for giving you the privilege of loving the family He has given you—unconditionally, the way He loves them.
Verses to Memorize
Render service with a good attitude, as to the Lord and not to men. Ephesians 6:7
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15 Continue reading
Seeds Family Worship CD – review and giveaway
Do you wish your children could memorize God’s Word? Do you want your children memorizing verses, just as they are written, rather than Bible based songs?
Then you need Seeds Family Worship CD’s.
This is a wonderful Bible memorization tool the whole family can use. My kids (seven and three) have already learned several verses. It’s easy for kids to memorize songs – something about the music helps imprint it in their minds. What better to memorize than God’s Word?
Each CD comes with a copy to pass on to a friend – or play one in the house, and keep one in the car.
There are six themed CD’s to choose from… Continue reading

Day 28: Love Makes Sacrifices

Love Dare for Families – Day 27: Love Encourages
Day 27: Love Encourages
Today’s Challenge
: Eliminate the poison of unrealistic expectations in your home. Think of one area where your family has told you you’re expecting too much, and tell them you’re sorry for being so hard on them about it. Promise them you’ll seek to understand, and assure them of your unconditional love.
Verses to Memorize
Guard my soul and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You. – Psalm 25:20
Encourage one another and build up one another. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24 Continue reading
Love Dare for Families – Day 26: Love is Responsible
Day 26: Love is Responsible
Today’s Challenge
Take time to pray thorough your areas of wrongdoing. Ask for God’s forgiveness, then humble yourself enough to admit them to your family. Do it sincerely and truthfully. Ask your family for forgiveness as well. No matter how they respond, make sure you cover your responsibility in love. Even if they respond with criticism, accept it by receiving it as counsel.
Verses to Memorize
When you judge another, you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the same things. Romans 2:1
If we confess our sins, [God] is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Each one must examine his own work … in regard to himself alone. Galatians 6:4 Continue reading
Love Dare for Families – Day 25: Love Forgives
Day 25: Love Forgives
Today’s Challenge
Whatever you haven’t forgiven in your family, forgive it today. Let it go. Just as we ask Jesus to “forgive us our debts” each day, we must ask him to help us “forgive our debtors” each day as well. Un-forgiveness has been keeping you and your family in prison too long. Say from your heart, “I choose to forgive.”
Verses to Memorize
What I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:10
Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing. Luke 23:34 Continue reading
Love Dare for Families – Day 24: Love vs. Lust
Day 24: Love vs Lust
Today’s Challenge
End it now. Identify every object of lust in your life and remove it. Single out every lie you’ve swallowed in pursuing forbidden pleasure and reject it. Lust cannot be allowed to live in your home. It must be killed and destroyed –today—and replaced with the sure promises of God and a heart filled with His perfect love.
Verses to Memorize
The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:17
We have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. 1 Timothy 6:7
Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil. 1 Peter 2:16 Continue reading
Love Dare for Families – Day 23: Love Always Protects
Day 23: Love Always Protects
Today’s Challenge
Remove anything that is hindering your relationship, any addiction or influence that’s stealing your affections and turning your heart away from your family.
Verses to Memorize
[Love] always protects. 1 Corinthians 13:7
The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands. Proverbs 14:1 Continue reading
Love Dare for Families – Day 22: Love Is Faithful
Day 22: Love Is Faithful
Today’s Challenge
Love is a choice, not a feeling. It is an initiated action, not a knee-jerk reaction. Choose today to be committed to love even if your spouse or children have lost most of their interest in receiving it. Say to them today in words similar to these, “I love you. Period. I choose to love you even if you don’t love me in return.”
Verses to Memorize
I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the Lord. Hosea 2:20
God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart … your soul … your strength … your mind … and your neighbor as yourself. Luke 10:27
I have chosen the faithful way. Psalm 119:30 Continue reading
