DVD: A Mile in His Shoes (review and giveaway!)
Are you interested in watching a movie your whole family can see without censoring parts of it?
Then you’ll want to check out A Mile in His Shoes.
My children, three and seven, enjoyed watching this movie with my husband and me. From the same director as “Angels in the Outfield” is a story about a boy with Asperger’s and an amazing pitching arm.
Watch the 30-second clip here: A Mile in His Shoes preview. Or watch on YouTube: Continue reading
31 Days to Clean – review and giveaway
Many of you are gearing up for the January 31 Days to Clean challenge I am hosting on Facebook. I will also be posting daily here on Well-Watered Garden for those without a Facebook account.
Dozens of you have already purchased your copy of Sarah Mae’s book 31 Days to Clean – Having a Martha House the Mary Way and can’t wait to get started on January 3rd.
What I love about this challenge is I won’t just be cleaning my physical home (house) that I share with my family, but I will be tuning up my spiritual body and mind as well.
Each of the 31 days begins with encouragement or reflection. Day 1 begins with the question, “Why DO you want a clean home?” Yes, why indeed! Answering this question will help us create goals and when we have goals written down where we can see them, it’s harder for us to have excuses why we can’t meet them… Continue reading

Cooper and Me Winter Adventure – review and giveaway!
It was a happy mail day when Cooper and Me and the Winter Adventure book arrived. My children were excited to read about Cooper and Bella’s adventure in the snow.
It warmed my heart to see my daughter reading this to my son, and the excitement that was in their eyes as they traveled along with Cooper and Bella.
At one point in the story, Cooper and Bella are lost because the sudden snow storm caused them to lose their bearings.
What do they do? Continue reading
Seeds Family Worship CD – review and giveaway
Do you wish your children could memorize God’s Word? Do you want your children memorizing verses, just as they are written, rather than Bible based songs?
Then you need Seeds Family Worship CD’s.
This is a wonderful Bible memorization tool the whole family can use. My kids (seven and three) have already learned several verses. It’s easy for kids to memorize songs – something about the music helps imprint it in their minds. What better to memorize than God’s Word?
Each CD comes with a copy to pass on to a friend – or play one in the house, and keep one in the car.
There are six themed CD’s to choose from… Continue reading

Be Imi “tators” and Fruit of the Spirit Character Charts (review and giveaway!)
I wanted to share with you guys some character charts I found on Heavenly Homemakers that you might also be interested in.
The first character chart I want to tell you about is the Be Imi-”taters” Character Chart. This is a really simple, yet effective, chart for children (even young ones!) to learn what it means to be an Imitator of Christ.
Other “taters” used are Dic “taters” (someone who is bossy), Spec “taters” (lets others do the work while they watch), Agi “taters” (a pest), and Commen “taters” (interrupts and talks negatively about others).
Each time your child shows that he/she is imitating Christ, tell him/her to put a tater on the chart

The Story of God and Man Review & Giveaway
Have you been wanting to teach your children the valuable truths of God, but weren’t sure how?
Have you wanted to do some scripture memorization, but didn’t think your children were capable?
I have, so what a blessing it is to review this book!
How it Works and Why
The Story of God and Man uses a rhyming “Q & A” format that makes it easy for children to memorize. When you pair it with the songs available free on their website, it is a breeze to get children of any age to retain the truths of God’s Word.
How to Use
The Story of God and Man is flexible, and can be used a number of ways:
- read a lesson with your children before bed
- use as your Bible curriculum for the year, if you homeschool. You can schedule one section per month (there are ten sections), or two lessons per week if you school year-round
- use in your Sunday School class, if you are a teacher
- use for VBS, if you are a leader
No matter what denomination you are, you can use this book in your home, school, or church. Continue reading

Beginning the day declaring truth and promises from God’s word will strengthen your family’s spirit. Speaking the Word aloud with our children is the greatest blessing we can give them.
Discover and experience God’s design and calling for your life! Join me as we walk through Nancy DeMoss’ True Woman Makeover series.
The Word of God is opened up to me in such depth with the amplified version. I like that I have the NASB right there as well. So blessed!
