Day 2: Love is Kind

Today’s Challenge

In addition to saying nothing negative to your family again today, do at least one unexpected gesture as an act of kindness.

Verses to Memorize/Recite

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

“I will be kind and tender-hearted. I will forgive as God in Christ has forgiven me.”

Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man. Proverbs 3:3–4

“I will not let kindness and truth leave me. I will bind them around my neck and write them on the tablet of my heart; and I will find favor in the sight of God and man.”

She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:26

Those with the copy of the Prayer Warriors book will be able to read the whole thing, of course, which is a blessing.] From personal experience and many years of observation, moms often discipline boys for being boys, instead of understanding that God wants them to grow into strong men…If we want them to be warriors when they are big, they need to be able to practice being little warriors when they are young…That’s not to say they don’t often need to be disciplined and trained when they stay off the path, but it is to say that boys will be boys, and that it’s a good thing…

  • a strong loving hand (acceptance and grace)
  • a strong gentle hand (kindness and gentleness)
  • a strong patient hand (understanding and longsuffering)
  • a strong protective hand (teaching and telling) and (encouraging and affirming)
