Day 1: Love is Patient

Today’s Challenge

The first part of this dare is fairly simple. Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day, resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your family at all. If the temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It’s better to hold your tongue than to say something you’ll regret.

Verses to Memorize:

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2

“I will be completely humble, gentle, and patient, bearing with one another in love.”

He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who is quick-tempered exalts folly. Proverbs 14:29

“When I am slow to anger, I have great understanding, but when I am quick-tempered, I exalt folly.”

See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another. 1 Thessalonians 5:15

Day 13: Patience

Encouragement from Brooke:

I’m convinced that God cares less about how much I accomplish in life…the “great things” I do in His Name…than He does about how I respond to the things He allows into my life daily. Some of the most accomplished in the Kingdom of Christ are those whose names you and I will never know this side of heaven. And greatness is only measured by how well we respond to Christ in the little things. Being patience for what God’s plan is and not necessarily pursuing our own dreams.
